Ever since I was a kid, winter has been my favorite season. Part of this has to do with the fact that my birthday is in February and there is nothing more exciting than preparing for your birthday. I also like it because there’s so much to do outside in the winter, like sledding. And ice skating! Two of the best activities in the world in my opinion!
I love how after a fresh snowfall the snow rests on branches in perfect rows of pure white. And Tim and I both agree that there’s nothing like the crisp air that refreshes your body (or freezes your insides) when you step outside and hurry to your car.
hhhhhhhhhhhm – aaaahhhhh!
When it snows in Minnesota, it’s just another day. You scrape off your car and move on with your life.
It’s snowing in Denver today. Not much. I think I see an inch or two accumulated on the car across the street. And you know what I thought when I looked out the window this morning?
“I don’t know if I want to go outside in this.”
Yes. That was my thought. Pathetic.
I have been ruined by the mild aseasonal weather of Denver, CO. Where it is always about 50 degrees. Where the sun is always shining and the grass is always brown. If it does snow, the snow is gone in a couple of days. If it rains, the rain ends within a couple of hours. Some would call this beautiful. I call it boring. Ugly even.
So, I’m going outside today. Jack and I are going to the YMCA this afternoon as I planned so I can exercise. We are going to bundle up, face the cold, and admire the snow like any normal Minnesotans would do because that’s just what you do in the winter!
Tomorrow the high is 3 degrees Farenheit.
Bring it.
Um… it got cold very very fast. And so much more snow! This Minnesotan knows when to stay home safe and warm.
Oh! And the high tomorrow is now -2. Yikes.
