When Jack and I had trouble “getting” breast feeding 22 months ago, I was told to spend time with him skin to skin. I heard it from several experts and read it in books before Jack was born, but in my cynicism, I didn’t try until Jack was at least 6 weeks old. By that time, we had already been using the shield and I just didn’t feel like trying any more.

If I would have seen this story 2 years ago, I would’ve trusted the great advice I had heard much more!! I will next time around! Warning: you might cry. I did.
