Day 18 of 31 Days of Connecting
A year and a half ago, I had been working through tons of anger with God for calling us away from our families and our financial struggles were just adding insult to injury. Does God care? was a huge question in my life. And then a preacher stated this:
The God of the Universe who has unlimited resources at his disposal cares about you. Will you let Him?
I felt God telling me: Trust me.
So, I did.
You can hear the full story here, within a sermon I preached at Scum of the Earth Church on January 12, 2014. You will need Quicktime player to hear this sermon – or you can search for it in iTunes podcasts under “Scum Sermons.”
Thanks for listening.
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7 NIV
So very true, and such a blessing that He does.
Wish I could podcast that right now! God caring for us — really internalizing that message — is incredibly hard. I think I understand it fine in the context of the cross, but less so in my day-to-day. But then there are the sparrows….
Yes, the sparrows! I’ve been thinking about them a lot lately. Thanks for reading and your comment!
What a great and yet simple truth, if we only believe it.
And there’s the rub.

This is beautiful. It’s hard to let go of our control (not that we ever had it) and cast our cares about Him. But it’s also a huge blessing when we do it.
Thanks for stopping by my blog from Inspire Me Monday. If you want to come back and read my story, it is linked from the bottom of the “Clean Slate” post.
Thank you! I just posted the actual sorry from the sermon last night, if you would like to read it. I would love to read your story. Thank you for sharing! I will be online much more later today and will come by!
