Leah Everson is a Minnesota Girl through and through. The oldest of a family of five girls, Leah spent her childhood playing softball, practicing the piano, and falling in love with books. While at Bethel University, Leah felt God call her into vocational ministry and graduated with a BA in Biblical and Theological Studies in 2003. A year after getting married, Leah and Tim packed up to move to sunny Colorado where she earned her Master of Divinity (Denver Seminary, 2008).
The day after Leah’s schoolwork was finished, her son Jack was born. She spent the next year struggling to adapt to life as a mama and began her blog, The Toothless Grin, to share her story and come alongside other tired moms. In 2010, Leah was hired as a pastor at Scum of the Earth Church. There she co-founded the Scum Study Center, developing courses in bible, theology, and spiritual disciplines. After Ben was born in 2011, Leah began leading the Scum Moms Group.
In 2015, the Eversons packed up and moved back to Minnesota. After buying a house in the Minneapolis suburbs, getting the kids set up at school and discovering their church family (not to mention some solid wilderness time of wandering and questioning), Leah decided to train to be an Enneagram Coach in the spring of 2020.
Through coaching, Leah gets to do what she loves: create a safe space for others to find healing and wholeness in their connection with God, themselves, and others. She is so excited you are here and hopes you will introduce yourself!
OH! So good to meet you! I love both Colorado and Minnesota, and the you’re rockin’ with the name of your church! Looking forward to more of your “scum”!!
Thanks, Dawn! We actually moved back to MN this summer, so I really need to update this profile. 🙂 But I’m glad you love Scum. It’s a great place and I miss it so much.
