My sister’s new father-in-law got a great video of Jack walking down the aisle. I’m so happy!! [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImHH6ky8Ro8&fs=1&hl=en_US] The pillow was used in my grandparent’s, my parents’, and my aunts’ and uncles’ weddings. So cool. At the end you can see that Jack finally saw me on stage and is ready to keep walking up […]
The Wedding
This summer has just flown by for me. I was much busier than I expected with more work, events, and traveling than usual. To end the summer, we all took a trip back to Minnesota for my sister Chelsea’s wedding. Jack was a ring-bearer, and a pretty darn cute one at that! I hope you […]
The “Stop Doing” List
Last week I went to a conference called “The Global Leadership Summit” put on by the Willow Creek Association. For two days we listened to speakers everywhere from Christine Caine an Australian pastor and founder of The A21 Campaign dedicated to end human trafficing, to Blake Mycoskie the founder of TOMS Shoes (for every pair […]
To the Ones Upstairs
Yesterday I discovered a website called plinky.com. It is designed to help fight writer’s block and provides prompts for writing. The prompt yesterday was: Write a 10 line poem about your neighbor. Here are my results. Enjoy!! To the Ones Upstairs You are quieter than the last neighbor who lived above our heads You do […]
Why I’ve Feared a Second One…
In the past couple of months, I have started to day dream about having a second child. Jack is nearly 20 months old and itβs a natural time to start considering having another baby. My friend Jess said that when your baby is about 15 months old you begin to forget how difficult and horrible […]
Retro Video
“Retro” to be taken very lightly. This is a video I posted on Facebook several months ago, but just uploaded to YouTube for the world to enjoy! I thought it was time you all saw it too if you didn’t already on Facebook. π So… enjoy! ~Leah [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYUVgpbWk3Y]
Yes. Just say YES!
Jack won’t say yes. I know he can say yes. He used to be so cute saying “yeth” or “yeah” while “talking” on his phone. But now, all he says is no. And it’s driving me crazy! At first it was super cute because he answers yes or no questions with a no. And his […]
Self-Care
I mentioned before that we have recently been busy. Very very busy. I have strained to figure out when to work, when to play, when to clean, when to sleep… so, needless to say I am tired. One day all I could think is: I want a hot bath. I want to soak and REST. […]
Friendship
I think we all ache for strong friendships and as moms they can be especially hard to come by. In many ways we are just not available for deep friendships. Our lives are interrupted by toddling children who dump water all over books or stuff Mr. Potato Head teeth into the VCR. It is hard to focus on others (and ourselves, but that’s another post). But we NEED each other.
A Cord of Three Strands… Can We Be That?
For months – no, for about a year and a half now I have been disheartened and frustrated about “Mommy Wars.” They completely caught me off guard. For me, it started when Tim and I were in our natural childbirth class. I was somewhat skeptical that the “Bradley Method” was the best way mostly because […]
