Good morning and…

thanks giving

I am doing cartwheels because this is my absolute favorite holiday. From the Thanksgiving Day parade to the Football games. From the turkey to the lefse. From the awkward conversations around the dinner table to the dorky games with the family with desert. From the act of writing down the thing you are most grateful for to uncomfortably sharing it out loud with everyone. I love it all.

Nothing has changed my life more than the practice of being grateful. Nothing.

When I give thanks for what I have instead of dwelling on what I want, I learn to be content.

When I give thanks for the food we just ate while doing dishes, it becomes more than a dreaded chore.

When I “give thanks in all circumstances” (1 Thess 5:18), I know that God has my back – no matter what.

And when I see my children giving thanks on our Thankful wall, I see them begin to experience the joy and freedom of the acknowledging the good that is in their lives.

Finally, I am thankful for you, my reader, who has taken precious time to read my words. You keep me going. Thanks.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.Philippians 4:6-7
